Backstage Winery

Backstage is a family-owned winery in Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District, founded by winemaker Angelo Pera in 2010. Nestled on the valley floor and surrounded by vines, the winery is a serene, sun-soaked retreat with the look and feel of a Tuscan villa, a nod to Angelo’s Italian roots and the property’s storied past.

Angelo’s winemaking journey began over 30 years ago, in his garage, the start of a pursuit rooted in patience, precision and a deep respect for craft. Today, Angelo continues to make each wine by hand, working alongside his family.

Backstage specializes in single-vineyard wines, crafted by hand in small lots. While the estate includes 50 acres of grapes, Angelo also works with trusted growers across Napa Valley. Most vineyard plots are just 1 to 2 acres, allowing each wine to reflect the unique character of its site. Cabernet Sauvignon is the cornerstone, with multiple bottlings each year from different vineyard sources: elegant, age-worthy and distinct in personality
