Finding a wine bar that’s both easy going and thoughtfully curated isn’t always easy. We pondered how to create a space where great wine feels approachable. Whether you are tasting wine for the first time or a sommelier, our rotating wine selection is curated to showcase the best of California.

Alta Vina, or ‘high wine’, is a play on Alta California, or ‘upper California’ in Spanish. We chose the name for our wine bar because it goes with our theme of highlighting the incredible quality of wine found in California.

Our shop is focused on community. In addition to wine, we also offer beer, specialty sodas and a small retail selection of local, artisanal foodstuffs.

Bottles, glasses and snacks can be enjoyed indoors at our communal table, counter, or high-top tables.

Purchase bottles to go or open any bottle in store for a $10 corkage fee.

No reservations; first come, first served. The max occupancy at our communal table is 12 guests; counter seating is also available.

Blind tasting flights Sundays in the Oakland shop, 12-8pm

ORDINAIRE is a wine shop and wine bar that specializes in natural wines, which means, for us, wines that are made by real humans, with grapes that are farmed organically, and then fermented naturally in the cellar with no additives. We believe that natural wines hold the power to affirm a profound sense of our shared humanity, our connectedness to nature, and our desires for a better world. Keep it natty!

Stop by to try our Dry Creek Zinfandel, Russian River Pinot Noir, Alexander Valley Cabernet, and a rotating selection of sparkling wine, white wine, and red blends

We offer wine tasting flights (refundable with a purchase), wine by the glass, and bottles to go.

Snail Bar is a natural wine bar and bottle shop located in the Temescal district of Oakland. We have a small, seasonally focused food menu that changes from week to week.

Reservations are only available Friday-Monday, full service / full menu days. We currently only accept parties up to 6 guests via Resy.

We’re a very tiny place — if you are more than 15 minutes late for your reservation without notice, your table will be given away to a guest on the waitlist.

Our indoor counter and patio/parklet are available for walk-in guests. The full menu is available.

Our maximum table size is six guests.
