Profile
The wines of Merryvale are inspired by the European sensibilities of René and Laurence Schlatter. Make no mistake; these are Napa Valley wines from hillside vineyards, meaning they’re powerful and concentrated. But the coolness of the sites in which they’re grown, and the work done in the winery to manage the tannins for approachability, creates wines with personality, texture, elegance and acidity. These wines are meant to age gracefully. For this reason, the Schlatters tend to hold their Cabernet Sauvignons longer prior to release, giving them time to develop as they rest in bottle. Again, it goes back to the culture of wine in which they were raised.
With our status as a heritage estate, Merryvale is able to offer a level of hospitality that is available few other places in Napa Valley, so your experience at Merryvale can be as simple or as immersive as you wish. The perfect introduction to our small-production wines available only at the winery. Includes a selection of red and white wine current releases.
Terroir Experience $80pp
An exploration of the diversity and unique characteristics of Napa Valley’s AVAs—from valley floor to mountaintop—through Merryvale’s estate vineyard wines. This seated tasting of estate and winery-exclusive wines is presented with a selection of cheeses, when booked 12 hours prior.
Grand Cru Experience $150pp
An intimate exploration of the finest Estate proprietary wines we produce. This curated tasting features our proprietary red blends crafted from our estate vineyards, showcasing the depth, character, and distinction of each site. This journey includes vintage pours of Profile, offering a rare opportunity to understand the age ability, structure, and evolution that define our most iconic wine, Profile. Accompanied by a selection of cheeses and meats.
Profile Estate Vertical Tasting and Vineyard Lunch $295pp
A private tasting of our flagship wine at its source, our Profile estate. Perched in the steep hillsides east of St. Helena 800 feet above the valley floor, this gem of a vineyard features an array of elevations, exposures and soils that give this single-vineyard wine its stunning complexity and distinctive personality. The deck at the estate offers vista views of Napa Valley and is where you’ll enjoy a vertical tasting of Profile and picnic lunch, followed by a guided walking tour of this iconic site.
At Merryvale we do not have a permit for outside food. We do have cheese and charcuterie boards available for $35.
